  • VVDCS is a private school satellite program (PSP) which means that we are a private school in the State of California without a campus. All of our families enrolled participate in a satellite classroom in their own home where the parent is the teacher of their own children. Families within our school join together for activities. Our school home-office maintains recordkeeping and counseling. We are a privately funded school and independent of many of the public campus requirements and standards.

Charter schools are public school programs funded by the state and come with state requirements.

Receiving public funds is a conflict of interest to our mission of giving our kids a Biblical education and protecting parental rights to choose academic and health standards for our own children.

  • If you file your private school affidavit in the State of California you are your own private school. You can join our PSP as a Support Group member to receive services such as academic curriculum counseling, graduation, transcripts help and group activities.

  • VVDCS does not require standardized state testing. As a private school, we set our standards at or above the requirements of our local public schools. Standardized tests are optional and reviewed/required on a case by case basis that is usually determined by any potential learning disabilities and post grad plans.

  • VVDCS is a private, non-campus school and therefore we are not required to mandate public campus health requirements. We do keep/maintain/report numbers for health records for all of our enrolled students, however we do not require compliance with the public vaccine schedule. Parents may also choose to sign a waiver.

  • VVDCS offers a variety a of enrichment classes each school year depending upon the current need and circumstances. In years past, we have offered Creative Writing, Biology Lab, Personal Finance, arts and crafts, community leadership, agricultural sustainability, co-op gardening, and a variety of clubs.

  • VVDCS offers a variety of activities that vary from year to year based on current needs availability, and circumstances. We offer opportunities for community service including library help, volunteering with the Town Of Apple Valley or Hesperia, Veterans Day Parade, and Community Cleanup. We also offer seasonal holiday parties for teens, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Easter.

  • VVDCS offers a variety of field trips usually focusing on one major field trip each month. Some of the places we have visited before include the San Bernardino and Los Angeles County Fairs, Riley’s Farm, Calico, Forever Wild Exotic Animal Rescue, or local theater, and career education opportunities.

  • Families with atypical students or students with special needs are absolutely welcome here at VVDCS! We have several counselors who are able to help you to plan out your special course of studies and specialized education plans. As a private school we are not required to maintain IEP‘s because everything we do in the home setting is customized for our children to succeed.

  • VVDCS does not provide your curriculum. However we do offer a Curriculum Lending Library for free to enrolled families. If you have a need and we don’t have the supply you will be required to meet the need on your own. We will gladly show you where to find tools and supplies at the lowest cost available.

  • VVDCS absolutely helps with curriculum counseling for every single student enrolled. We sit down annually with teachers to plan out an approved course of study. We also help with lesson plans and make changes as often throughout the year as necessary.

  • VVDCS’s PSP program requires that the parent be in charge of teaching their child. The parent should be giving at least 51% of the instruction to their children. Outside classes can be use for support and enrichment including group co-op settings.

We will not do all of the teaching for you.

  • Accreditation is something that is required for public campuses in order to comply with requirements for public funding. VVDCS is a private school does not receive public funds and therefore does not need to be approved for accreditation. All of our standards meet or exceed our local public schools (including college A-G requirements) and accreditation is not required for your students to go on to higher education.

  • VVDCS offers diplomas to our students who have completed their academic requirements upon 12th grade graduation. We also offer professional transcripts for everyone of our students at every grade level.

  • VVDCS will absolutely help your child to get in to the college of their choosing. We help you research ahead of time to help you to get where you want to go. All of our students have been able to go on to the future academic and career paths of their choice without any difficulty from our private school experience.

  • VVDCS offers concurrent enrollment or dual enrollment options for our high school students. Many of our students are able to complete college level courses while still in high school and receive credit both at the college and at the high school at the same time. We will help you with the process specifically with our local community colleges like in Victor Valley College, Barstow Community College and even Christian colleges like Grand Canyon University.

  • VVDCS is not currently a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Nor are we a nonprofit organization. Nor are we a church ministry program. VVDCS is not currently incorporated but is operating as a sole proprietorship.

  • VVDCS does not operate as a ministry of a church. We operate as an independent private school. However, our school leadership is affiliated with Calvary Chapel of Apple Valley and serve as local missionaries to the community. We do not receive funding from the church. We do not require membership or participation at this church, but we do encourage our families to be actively apart of home church like this one.

  • VVDCS does have a Statement of Faith that we ask you to honor and abide by. Our vision is to serve other Christians in a way that will encourage and sharpen one another. Our mission is mainly for like-minded believers and not a mission field for conversion.
