Clark's ACME Detective Agency - World Geography Class
Mrs. Clark is back at it again with her unique class to teach World Geography. This is her Carmen San Diego Themed Detective Agency Class for VVDCS for Spring 2025.
While learning critical and strategic thinking, locate play criminals via detective agency immersive-play in class. A hands-on, investigative approach to world geography for older elem/middle schoolers. Targets grades 3rd through 8th.
“CALLING ALL GUMSHOES!! Your student is invited to join the ACME
Detective Agency where we work to solve the crimes of the infamous
“Carmen San Diego”. Carmen, along with her nefarious henchmen,
informants, and other characters will give us the clues we need to track her
all over the world, learning about different countries, famous cities,
worthwhile points of interest, and more. Your job… should you chose to
accept it… is to study the ACME Detective Handbook each week,
preparing to answer important questions, and solve the coded message to
enter our secure facility. We can’t let Carmen escape any longer,
Gumshoes! It’s time to CATCH THAT CROOK!
- A fun booklet will be provided each week at class, so that your student
can prepare for the following class.
- A secret coded postcard will be mailed to the student prior to each
class date to decipher the required “Command Center entry code”.
- This is intended to be a very fun, easy, and low-pressure opportunity
for the student and the parents. However, the students will have a more
positive experience if they review the provided material.
- We need a lot of parent helpers and will have a “Lead Detectives
Meeting” (that’s the grownups!) prior to the first class. Please sign up if you’re
available to participate in class with us.
